IMTS-국제수학영재발굴대회 : International Mathematical Talent Search

International Mathematical Talent Search

International Mathematical
Talent Search

The International Mathematical Talent Search (IMTS) was an
extension of the USA Mathematical Talent Search (USAMTS),
a year-round problem-solving program in mathematics. It was
initiated in 1991 in the Mathematics and Informatics Quarterly
(M&IQ)
, and was discontinued 10 years later, in 2001. During
its 10 years of operation, each round of the IMTS featured 5
challenging problems for students at the secondary level;
these problems are featured below as a service of the Canadian
Mathematical Society.
Problem Rounds

Notes:
  • Round 44 was the final round of IMTS problems.
  • The USAMTS has the same problems as the IMTS
(although numbered differently) and is continuing.
  • The USAMTS website includes some solutions to
    recent problems.
  • The Mathematics and Informatics Quarterly
featured solutions to the first 40 rounds of problems
of the IMTS, as well as to those problems of the
USAMTS, which preceded (by 2 years) the IMTS
    program.

  • Publishes articles, notes, problems and solutions in school mathematics and informatics.
  • Is devoted to teachers and students, who are interested in mathematics and informatics clubs, olympiads and competitions.

The Mathematics and Informatics Quarterly is available only on subscription, and only orders for complete volumes can be accepted. Subscriptions can be placed at any time during the year, and back issues will be supplied.

  2. If the paper has be presented at a mathematics fair, or other competition, a footnote giving name of competition, date, and any award received should be included.
  3. While no maximum length of contribution is prescribed, authors are encouraged to write concisely.
